Executive Summary
King Renovate completed a full retail store expansion and interior renovation for MINISO at Dufferin Mall in Toronto, Ontario. The approximately 3,000 sq. ft. project transformed the existing unit by removing former fitting rooms, extending the retail sales area, and preparing the enlarged space for MINISO’s fixtures and furniture.
As the commercial general contractor, King Renovate managed the complete construction program, including selective demolition, retail-area reconfiguration, flooring, storefront work, signage, electrical, lighting, HVAC coordination, low-voltage systems, fixture installation, finishing, and final turnover.
The project presented two important technical challenges. The existing fitting-room demolition was more difficult than a standard interior removal and had to be carefully completed while protecting the surrounding areas that would remain. The aluminum storefront also included curved and irregular shapes that could not be finished effectively with standard flat panels.
To solve the storefront challenge, King Renovate fabricated large custom aluminum panels and formed the panel backs and returns to follow the storefront’s curves and geometry. This custom approach reduced unnecessary joints and created a clean, continuous finished appearance.
Through detailed scheduling and direct trade coordination, the complete expansion and renovation was delivered in approximately one month and handed over ready for MINISO’s retail operations.
